Whats the difference between the kv2 series and the ov2 series from ED? which has better sq and which has better output? do they have the new subs available for people who didnt preorder?

I know a lot of people are gonna talk about thier reliability issues. I read most of the stuff from that 17(?) page thread that started just a few months ago. but i have also read a lot of good things about thier subs. hopefully they do better this time around. thanks

the ov2 will beat the kv2 in sq and output, there's just more driver there, they have started packaging/shipping for the people on preorder and most people will likely have their products by next week, call eD if you want to find out anything about an order

That's not what I heard. I thought they were expecting the subs any day, which means they still have to package them and send them out to the customers. Also do they still inspect every sub they ship out to customers? If so you have to consider this in the delay also. They will probably be in the customers hand in 4 weeks I'm thinking.

on the icix forums, ben said on tues that people should start receiving stuff next week, and eveyrone over there is waiting on trackin numbers currently

no one can really make that comparrison until the ov2 is released to the public, there a few that have heard one.....but not many

The old flatcone K's compared very well to the Shivas. I would think the Kv.2 would compare to the Shiva as well. Ben says the Kv.2 is far superior to the old K so take that for what you will.

yea..i saw that kv2 excursion video on thier website....it did pretty well for a subwoofer under 130 shipped. What i originally wanted to do was save up for a brahma(they have them on backorder anyways) but with the price being so low for the Kv2's, its going to be so hard to pass up. I'll probably end up getting the Ov2's if they actually ship anytime soon. Hopefully they are gonna be more reliable this time...

Any input about ED would be appreciated.

i remember one of the adire guys givin a few reasons why the shiva would have more output, but can't remember all the reasons, maybe one of them'll show up here

i did pit a 16Ov2 against a 15seXXX, the Ov2 outperformed it in both sq and spl. however, this was with 700w and the seXXX has seen some abuse in it's past. the SExxx may have outperformed it if you take advantage of it's superior power handling. the SQ of the Ov2 is better than the SX's i have demo'd, but it can't touch it in the spl arena. i have 0 play time with the new '04 SE's so i can't even begin to make a comparison. defiantly a great SQ driver with the ability to get loud.

Would it be more reasonable to compare the Ov2 to the RE SE subs then? Since the SE's are more for sq. I dont really care for the sub being able to get very loud at high volumes. I just want it to hit pretty hard at medium volumes and have wonderful sq. SQ is definately most important. Thanks for the info. I appreciate your honest opinion about the Sexxx better power handling.
