Elemental Designs e5.12 subwoofer

Hi there. I was thinking of picking up a e5.12 sub from elemental designs. I was looking at their website and it looks like it would work pretty good with my design specs. I'm thinking of the 1.5 cu ft box tuned to 30 hz that they suggest on the website. I'll probably run right around 600 watts rms to it. I like this sub also because if I want to run it sealed in my next vehicle, I can do that. It also doesn't have as much mounting depth as the 13av.2(I'm limited in my current car to a box that is 12" tall.

How is the output of these subs with 600 watts in a ported box? The website says that there is 25.4 mm of excursion which is a ton more than my current circa 2001 mtx subs. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it's more than double.

What do you guys think? This is my first decent system. It's not super fancy but it's a huge improvement from what I used to have.

I wonder how those compare to the 12W6V2. The old 13Ov.2 compared favorably to the 12W6V2.
