Elemental Designs e3.8 Subwoofers
@whitedragon551 says they are junk. I was hoping he would explain why though. I was considering buying a pair of these to play around with
If you do some searching on various forums they seem to have some of the worst customer service. I believe the ED subs with the flat cones had a tendency to break for no reason, but Im not 100% on that. Im at a hotel and there internet is slow as balls so I cant find the thread. The search takes way to long.

If anybody used these before what's your experience with them?
I have a pair of them in the recommended 0.65 cu ft box and so far I like them. In fact I was gonna do a review of them on the forum since they're on sale for $40 (discontinued), but my install isn't finished yet so I can't give a thorough review.

I'm giving the pair about 250 wrms, firing through my back seat air filter (I need a pic of that..), and they're not keeping up with my front stage. I have an email into eD asking just how much power I can give them, and if I can crank it to 400 W or so I think they'll be fine.

Sound quality is very good. They don't go real low, but for the music that I listen to they're fine. I bought them originally intending to mount them IB in my rear deck but that proved impractical. There's a fella on the forum who has a pair IB in his GF's car (thread about your girl's system).

I'll respond to this thread again once I find out if I can make them louder. If I can't, they'll hafta go and I'll prolly make a home speaker set out of them.

BTW I researched 8's on the web a while ago and found an SQ shootout article and the author liked the eD's a lot. I wish I could find that again but it seems to have disappeared.

I am currently running a single e3.8 in a .6 cubic foot enclosure tuned to 30 hz. I listen to a lot of rock/metal and it does just fine, although I wish I would of went with 1 more to get some more output. But off of 150 watts I cant compain, sound good and digs low when needed.
