Since all car audio threads are mostly about woofers, then you don't want to
use EV woofers as subwoofers when you can get better woofers from other
vendors.
If you want compression drivers, horns, large midranges and large midbass drivers,
the pro audio stuff will do that job with authority over whimpy car
audio component sets. From about 1989 - 1992, my van was all EV drivers
ranging from DH2 compression drivers mated to two HP640 horns that span
the whole width of the van, plus four 15" EV midbass and a few EV 18"
woofers powered by bridged Zapco amps. This was a SQL system, full range rear
stage that is pretty dang sweet then and even today if I still had the van.
I use a pair of DH1/HP640 horns on halloween every year to punish the kiddies
by broadcasting high SPL effects from the garage out into the street. Just those
two horns I can hear the sound blocks away, it's pretty nice for old drivers.
You can install a pro type system in a vehicle and use car audio subs, it will be
pretty cool if you know how to install such a rig. It's best to use a van though.
You can make a killer SQL wall rear stage and when not driving, rotate your
seat 180 degrees and you now have a front stage.
