Electric Superchargers...

Heh those are funny. If you do some math on turbines, the speed the impeller would need to rotate at to just overcome the engines normal CFM it ingests is astronomical. It's a nice dream, but it doesn't quite work that way.

there's no way to create power from power that just isnt there

6a at 14v is 84w, and there's 760 or so watts in a 1 horsepower, and that's assuming everything is 100% efficient... which its not

it just doesnt happen

oddly enough..if you take a leaf blower and blow it into your intake it will give you more HP but not that little thing....there is a movie on the web of a 05 civic with a leaf blower blowing into it and it gained 35hp and they blew nos into it and ended up with 183hp fwhp from 118fwhp....but no this little thing would never work...but a leaf blower...yes.

That 35hp boost was from nitrous, not the blower btw. Baseline: 138hp, with blower: 148hp. It must be just feeding the engine better since its not in motion maybe?

This may be a myth...but a trusty friend of mine told me that one day while there shop was real slow, they grabbed an electric leaf blower and someone said..."Looks like a massive turbo compressor" and someone had an idea. He said they strapped it on, more or less, and claims they got around an 8% increase. Not to sure about that though.

Sport Compact Car actually dynoed one of the electric superchargers in a rx7 and uintegra they lost horsepower it just blocked up the air flow. A guy I worked with his son n law bought one and his car started to sputter and run horrible took it out and it was back to normal
