I have a serious question for obama voters: Why is it greedy to want to keep more of what you earn, but it is not greedy to want to take what someone else has earned?
Because if someone is making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, they can afford to pay a little more in taxes to help someone who is making $20,000 a year.

The people making $20,000 a year can' t live on their normal income and the $5,000 to $6,000 they get back every year as Earned Income Tax Credit.....EIC is money they never paid in but get it back.......us working class people paying that in so they can collect it aint enough?.......i like it.....sign me up....lmao

Not wanting to elect someone who is gong to steal from the lower and middle classes to give the rich tax cuts is stupid? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

4 more years! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
so stealing from the rich and giving it to crack heads is better if you made that much money you would want to keep it too.

ha i wish i got back $5k - $6k for taxes.

We will all just have to wait and see what happens. I am curious about what happens with gun control, but gut tells me nothing will happen because gun control isn't a popular topic and there won't be many changes made. Obama up to this point has been very pro-gun in his legislation.

There was unbelievable amounts of BS in this election from both parties this year. The biggest problem with our economy is that we aren't producing enough products, fix that and America can be very prosperous. We can all enjoy lower tax rates and rebates if we have a strong economy with more people making higher wages...

The only way to deal with this is to try to find ways to combat outsourcing and finding ways to discourage the purchasing of goods made outside the US. AND have companies willing to return to the high quality of American manufacturing that we once had, so that products are worth buying over others. Engineering can overcome cost obstacles if we educate Americans. @double 07 ; is a great example of how a small businessman can produce a great product at a great price point. It's all about priorities, the bottom line suffers if the product is crap and/or you have poor customer service @SkarAudio ;...

We have to put pride before greed and that has to start at the top... it is a major reason why this country is in this non-ideal situation.

They could....People like me reduce charitable giving to help offset the taxes.

So instead of the charity of my choice (usually Boys and Girls Club) getting a check for $X,XXX, that money will now go to the government. Makes herra sense.

I think there is a misconception among those who haven't ever made real money that those that do get to keep all of it and wallow around in it like Uncle Scrooge. Quite the opposite. There is intense pressure for you to donate to various charities (some of which are company sponsored), spend a good amount on all the little kids school fund raisers, you have to have nicer clothes for business meetings, you are expected to tip well at nicer resturants, etc. There are tons of small costs that I incur because of my status that a kid at McDonald's would never be encouraged to do.

It's the pussyfication of america, awwwww lets all get along and help people who dropped out and did nothing with their lives but smoke crack and work a car wash they need your money more than you do. This country is a joke....

Well, to be fair, that's not everyone. Some people just aren't cut out for America today and they won't be ready for the America of the future either. There is no way some government program that takes years to establish, monitor, etc is going to ensure that people are properly equipped with the right skills. It was easier in the 1950s where high school could prepare you for a life of factory work or some other semi-skilled labor job. Now, these jobs are in China and they aren't coming back. When I volunteer my time and money at the BGC, I can help direct the young people into fields that will be useful in the next decade.

yes i completely agree that it's not everyone, some people got laid off of factory jobs and if you truly got laid off and need unemployment to feed your family until you find a job it's good. Unfortunately that isn't the case, the rediculous amount of people that are drawing the welfare isn't because they lack skills or got laid off it's because they have no reason to work when the government will pay them to do absolutely nothing because we are supposed to help everyone yaaaay.

I think it's mostly that they lack the skills for the new economy and somewhere, someone down the line said the government will help. And this is true, I think if a company moves your jobs overseas, there is a requirment for the previous employer to help some. The thing is, I believe those factory workers should be constantly looking ahead in the marketplace and seeing what skills are needed and adjusting. My father is a prime example. He thought that working the factory, making enough money to buy his kids a good Christmas and a summer vacation, etc is enough and would continue forever. Well, he was wrong. Fortunatly, he retired early, but it does make me wonder about how many of those factory workers that remain believe that job will be there forever. It won't.

Plus, why would anyone want a job where some union helps you negotiate for a .50 or $1.00 more per hour anyway? Shouldn't you want your income to grow exponentially?

Well there are no unions down here and most of the main factories that are left are doing well (Michelin,BMW, Bosch, and a few others) but there were quite a lot of smaller machine shops and more localized factory jobs that had to shut down due to regulations put on companies in america and a lot of people lost their jobs. It wasn't because they changed manufacturing techniques and their workers were inadequate it was simply due to government regulation. I know what you mean about learning and looking toward the future i went to school to be a car tech, things change every year you constantly have to go back to school to keep up but i don't think that is what has drove the unemployment so high.
