Elec. sys. upgrade question

I wanted to upgrade my sub to 2 CVX 12"s. I would need a 1500w amp to do this. The way I understand it if you are pulling more than 1000-1200 watts, you have to upgrade your battery, alternator, and wires. (Big 3)

I am considering settling for a single CompVX 12". It's 750w. I think it'd be plenty as my 400w 12 really isn't that bad most of the time.

What I want to know is if I install just the single 12, will I still need to do the big three? I can't really afford to do it all at once, so I'm trying to avoid it if I can.

Here's what I have:

99 Tahoe

980bt HU

set of Kicker 650.2 componants running off zx250.2 amp (85w x2 channels @ 4 ohms)

Kicker CVT 12" off a zx400.1

Also, I have a Viper 5900 alarm. Don't know if that effects anything electrical-wise.

I'm not sure if the total would be 750w + 250w = 1000w or 750w+170w (85x2)=920w

Also, if I went with the 2 12"s, how long would I have before things started crapping out? I mean, could I install them and then upgrade the battery a couple weeks later? Then do the alternator a week later? Or does all that need to be done before installing the speakers?

I believe the tahoe has a 160 amp alt, you shouldn't have a problem at doing 2 12"s at around that wattage...

What about the battery? Would a stock battery be okay or should I get one of those deep cell batteries? And are those okay with a stock alt?

I plan to eventually. I just can't do it all right now and still get my subs. I'm thinking about getting just one CVX 12. I can get a zx750.1 real cheap right now. I'll probably upgrade the wires from the alternator and all that right off, but as far as replacing the alt and the battery, I just can't. And I'm pretty unhappy with my sub right now, so I just want to fix that.

you could run the 2 12"s off of the big three and an upgraded battery under the hood. i don't think you need a new alternator.
