Egay Fvck up!!!

I tried to sell my PG MS 2125's weeks ago. Didnt really get the offers i was looking for, so i took them to egay. Ran a auction for 3 days, got what i was looking for. The dude who wins the **** auction sends me a message, "I need the amps sent to Italy" Im like ****!!! So I comunicate with buyer, explain that will be very exspensive. He says if we use USPS express shouldnt cost much. Now these amps are some monsters in weght. I take the amps to my local UPS store, and then my post office. turns out, usps is the best way to go, depending how you want to send it. I give the buyer the info from both carriers, dosent faze him at all. He really wants these amps, and pays the shipping and the cost of the auction today!! I wake up, see that the auction has been paid, only to find out paypal locked all the money up for 21 days, and his address to italy is not verified. I contact him, and tell him, what paypal has done, he then gose crazy thru a email, sayin he has always done bizz like this, I said not with me, im going to protect me on this trasaction. I call ebay and paypal!! They both tell me not to send shipment cause of the address, paypal also says were keeping this money until buyer says he got what he paid for or the 21 days is up. So i had ebay cancel the auction, had paypal refund him his money, this guy is beyound pissed, and then somebody else emails me, educating me on the 2 amps i have. He explains what they are worth across the water, and why this guy wants the amps so bad. Me personaly, im after something else, i just want the money i needed to get my next project going, have i handled this right, or am i a bad egayer!!!!

You handled the situation right. I would email the guy back and tell him if he still wants the amps you'll sell them outside of all the ebay and paypal B.S.

Have him send a certified check or money order in US currency (with tracking!). Make sure it is legit and clears; then send the amps. You will actually be ahead of the game going this route because you save the egay and pay**** fees.

If this guy is legit he shouldn't have a problem doing this. If he dosen't want to go this route then who cares, relist them.

I am overseas, and I understand your concern about shipping overseas and not being covered by paypal

one of the problem we have is that some countries cannot get verified by paypal, and even worse, cannot get confirmed address

so, when a seller is not sure about selling, I try to give him other options on me paying, those include western union or bank transfer (in both cases, if the seller is not legit, I get screwed)

I think you handled it right, the buyer should have offered other ways to pay for this amp if he was legit and really wanted the amps

The MS series are very sought after in Italy and usually fetch a lot of money, but there was no need for someone else to explain this to you, the buyer should have done so himslef ...

ebay/paypal are beyond pissing me off lately! Usually when I sell something on ebay, I use the money from the auction to ship the shit and I am only selling because I need the money quickly. Having to wait 21 days is just ****ing retarded!

ANYWAYS... yeah this was the guys that approached me at first and PERHAPS maybe the way is like itchy said and/or someothers. BUT have him send money as a gift, then there is no onvolvement from paypal, no fees, etc etc

if he wants them so bad.

BUT yeah I hear ya... it can be a lil of headache dealing with overseas transactions if not used to it all the time.

There's absoluetly no way to cover yourself with the overseas stuff. Paypal is a ****ing joke and all they have to do is say they never got it and unless your shipping method has an online copy of the right person's signature you're out of luck. I'd avoid it at all costs, I almost lose more money selling overseas as I make by including those bidders.

Also after they cancel the transaction the guy can still leave you a negative feedback.

In Eastern Europe they use Alegro and eBay can't even get a foot in the door in that market because of all their bullshit. If they didn't have a total monopoly on the market in the USA feebay and paypal would be out of business.

just as an FYI - if money is sent by/via as a gift via paypal- there is nothing a buyer can do far as like requesting a refund, or disputing purchase or filing claim... becasue it was sent as a gift and nothing (in paypal's eyes) was bought or traded.... it's nothing more than sending it via western union... i do send some money as gift when buying some things here there, BUT ONLY if i am familiar with seller... and primarily it is to save him (the seller) the pp fees. so while it is still done with paypal. there is nothing a buyer could do to dispute the purchase- B/C it was money sent as a gift.

the one thing that I always post in the auction is US SALES ONLY!!, that usually helps you from getting in situations like this. Yet still, I get ppl contacting me asking to ship overseas, the best one I ever had was a guy wanting a SS 10k amp shipped to Kazakhstan, the shipping was more than what I was selling the amp for lol.... And no I didn't end up selling it to him just because it was so much of a hassle

get a tracking number, once you enter it into e-bay/pay pal, upon delivery the money unlocks, bastards did it to me, but i sent w/o tracking i called and bitched and got it unlocked. if you sell it with a return it gets locked so learn to sell as is from now on everyone! its gay.
