egay find (konaki)

We don't do cf dust caps or cones because we don't feel the need for them. Our cones are very strong, no folding that I am aware of.
People want them for looks anyway. Perceived performance increases are simply the excuse to spend the extra money on something that would otherwise be totally aesthetic.

I understand what you are saying but my feeling is if it made the sub better then it would come standard on all the subs. Guess I am losing out on a profit item but profit isn't everything.

wonder why DD is so strict about there recones.
If everyone could buy a konaki motor and get a dd recone and having something very close in performance to the dd 9500 for a fraction of the price, then less people would buy the dd. my guess anyways

where are my cards??

you can catch deals on used DD products.

The main differences between these subs is in the motor, not the cone and suspension. I suspect DD's main reasoning is not wanting their DD logo on non-DD subs.

so basically, the hard parts are great, the soft part will self-destruct in a mather of weeks?
For the most part, that's what Ive gathered from my research. Also, the fs is extremely high, and it doesn't do well as a daily subwoofer. One of the spiders is mounted in the wrong direction and makes noise. Not all of them have trouble with the spiders popping off, and it can be prevented by putting a lot of glue around the spider landing before use.
