Right now I'm sitting on about 10k of debt. Average starting salary is 50-60k. Don't think it's going to take too long especially considering the government sponsored student loans have ridiculously low interest rates that don't even start until 6 months after I graduate.

I don't really believe people are born smarter than one another, I just think it's a lack of motivation for most.

that makes sense. im almost halfway thru my senior year and have yet to crack a book honest to god lol i cant stand school. id rather work a 12 hour shift than sit in school for 6 hours.

I applaud bubbagumpa's approach guys, sorry. If you want to fuck around in school and not give a shit, you need only remember one phrase/question when you prepare to go to your job when/if you graduate..."You want fries with that?".

As much as I would like to agree with you, I just can't. You may not be born smarter, but some are born with a greater ability to retain and reproduce information. I put in 40-60hrs a week going to class, doing homework, and studying. I have a 2.6 GPA, failed my first class ever, and it's only getting harder. MY roommate smokes often, doesn't do much of anything productive, and never does any school work and has over a 3.0. It is like this with a lot of people I know, I bust my balls and work all day, but when it comes down to the test, it just doesn't pay off for me especially compared to those drinking,smoking, and partying and doing better than me.

Yeah I worked at McDonalds for 5 years during high school and that was pretty good motivation, lol.

That's kind of comparing apples and oranges. Are you guys in the same major and all the exact same classes? I mean I too have friends that don't do any work at all and are doing great in school but they're also in BS majors that aren't difficult at all. I do agree some people do seem to be able to absorb information faster, unfortunately that just means those that don't have to work harder, but it's still attainable. Anyone who thinks that there's no way they could get through college is just lying to themselves, with enough work, it's possible. I mean, aside from someone with a learning disability or something similar that literally inhibits their learning capability.

Intelligence is a measure of how much one has learned, of course at this point we aren't of equal intelligence but I think everyone had a fair shot to become intelligent to start with.
