eDead vs. Dynamat

If it's .80$ a sq ft, my guess is it's not going to be good. 1 Layer of GOOD deadening > 4 of cheap stuff. The first layer, contacting the base (metal, plastic, whatever it is) is the most important. After you start adding layers after layers the deadener starts to absorb the sound,
I don't know that a mat deadener will ever be very effective at absorbing sound, especially in the subbass region (which is what I'm guessing you are referring to). It's made out of the wrong material to be a very effective absorber. Which is the reason foam based products are used extensively.

You want the deadener to REFLECT the sound, not absorb it.

Maybe you do, but MANY of us are intentionally attempting to absorb various soundwaves. One to decrease road/engine/wind noise. Second is to control the acoustic enviornment within the car to improve the overall sound quality of the system.

I'd suggest raammat as well. I've used fatmat, a product similar to edead v1, as well as raammat.

Even though you get significantly more edead than you do raammat for $125, raammat weights considerably more than the other product. That means less layers, and less work for you. It also sticks better. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Do you think 1 roll would cover my floor and doors (As stated earlier, its for a std. cab s10)
Like I said before, call Rick at Raamat and he will tell you what you need. Also if you are a member of DIY forum he will give you a discount //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I just got in my 2 rolls of matt and 7 yards of ensolite today. Can't wait to put it in!

I was talking about >100hz frequencies.

When the deadener absorbs the sound, you lose SPL (cabin pressure), but gain Sound Quality. Correct?

We know Deadener stops rattles and such, but if too much is used, then it starts to absorb the SPL you are wanting. That would be my guess.

How are you losing cabin pressure by installing mat??????
