eDead vs. Dynamat

If it's .80$ a sq ft, my guess is it's not going to be good. 1 Layer of GOOD deadening > 4 of cheap stuff. The first layer, contacting the base (metal, plastic, whatever it is) is the most important. After you start adding layers after layers the deadener starts to absorb the sound, Thus Losing SPL. You want the deadener to REFLECT the sound, not absorb it. This is why 1-2 GOOD layers of good deadening is better than 3-5 layers of shitty stuff.

Just buy the good stuff and be happy.

No offense... but are you retarded? That was probably as wrong of a comment as saying BOSS audio pwns AA Assassins in every way but in the uselessness department.

No, but when it comes to deadener....and really, deadener only (except for the original & extreme dynamat) the more expensive the deadener, the better the product.

Speaking of brands such as Damplifier, eDead, Raamat and a few others.

Plus, fatmat is asphalt..you don't want any of that. And it's lbs/ft is way below what everything else is.

no no no... i know that (generally) you get what you pay for... but that statement about more layers actually ABSORBING the sound waves just sounds absurd. Do explain. I'm all up for being proven wrong, i dont mind at all... as long as im learning something useful.

I am not actually sure, I am regurgatating information from credible sources (second skin forum, here, ROE) that have told me multiple upon multiple layers of deadener is not as effective as 1-2 layers of some good deadener and also that multiple layers absorb the sound. I can see where they are going, but no, can't explain in detail.

Reflecting > Absorbing Sound, That's all I know.
