I agree with El-Ropo.. Eclipse is overrated. I love my nine.1..the thing never EVER gets hot, and elemental designs has the best customer service that i have ever experienced......

And another thing...out of all the competitions/car shows that i've been to over the past couple of years, I think I saw eclipse once...

But then again i was the only person running elemental designs =)

Amps DO have "sq" to a point. Any processing that takes place in the amp colors the output, I have an eclipse amp from that same line of amps and love it, for a sub amp, you wont even come close to hearing an SQ difference, and since they put out about the same power, you probably wont hear a difference period. I havent heard many ED amps fail, I know my Eclipse is high quality aswell so its up to you... I thik the eclipse looks better, I've seen both heatsinks in person and the Eclipse is gorgeous, it has a sparkly marble looking finish, something you have to see first hand. As for price, looks like the ED will be a bit cheaper, its a toss up after that..

Decks are a different ballgame, yes, you WILL hear a difference in a nice eclipse deck compared to an aiwa or somthing, they make very solid decks.

Well, compared to an Aiwa, obviously, but I meant more in comparison to other higher end offereings, like Clarion, Pioneer Premier, Alpine (high end, but not F1-Status), etc.

Dont ask us whether you'll hear an SQ diff between the two. The Eclipse's target audience is not the same as Ed's if you get my drift. I have never seen one of those come back and the local shop sold very well the 7122/7232's. Its a more refined product and i dare to say better componentry, price and resale value reflecting. I'ver never even heard of Eclipse selling bstocks/refurbs..... The day you try to sell your nine.1, potential buyer is more lured to buy a warrantied refurb rather than take it off your hands.

Nine.1 comes with 3 yr transferrable warranty, if you sell it to a friend 2 years from now, they'll still have a one year warranty. Can't say the same for customer installed eclipse products.

I'd go with the Eclipse. Never in my life have I had one of their products let me down, and I've owned 6 different pieces of gear from them.

well i got a 9.2, and it runs fine, never broke on me or anything, and i would have to say that eD's customer service is up there. for me that is.

as for amps having sq or not, errr are you comparing classes A a/b D or comparing the eclipse and eD. cuz i know for a fact, i heard it with my own ears, an a/b will have better SQ than a D. But comparing 2 diff amps of the same class, i dunno
