i went to ED sight to check out the tsunami 1800 and it was only $375. wtf. dont get me wrong, that's awesome for the price. how can they sale em so cheap. the bd1100 is about $260. these are unheard of prices. on the sight they said these amps are comparable or use the same class t design as arc audio and a few other companies. why is arc and us amps so much more expensive. please dont say advertisement. are they hand made. my question is how can they sale these amps so cheap. how do these amps differ from us amps and arc audio amps?

Tsunami Amplifiers. What are they doing at eD?

As you've probably just noticed we now have our new amplifier division open for business. Avionixx which is a company who also builds amplifiers for numerous companies other than themselves has created a large overstock of amplifiers they were contracted to build for a client. That client being Tsunami Autosound.

Because Tsunami has chosen not to sell the amplifiers they contracted the company to build Avionixx has contacted us to help clear the warehouse so to speak. The Tsunami amplifiers come with a 6 month warranty against factory defect from Elemental Designs. These amplifiers are NOT covered in any way shape or form by the company Tsunami or any of it's subsidiaries.

For a limited time the amplifiers are available from Elemental Designs until they are GONE. Quantities are limited and once they are gone, they will NOT be seen again.

These amplifiers are not B-Stock or random defective units. Rather brand new units with the tsunami name and model numbers on them. They ship from our avionixx warehousing facilities in Paramount California to you via your choice of shipping medium.

well it looks like i may get one of these to swap with my jbl. honestly guys i have used mostly rockford, phoenix gold and ppi amps of the past (just got back into car audio after a hiatus). will i tell a noticicable difference buy going with the bd 1100 vs my jbl1200. i really would appreciate and answer to this question. and please dont mention these words..............subsonic filter. im just tired of hearing those words (a personal thing).

You probably won't notice much of a difference at all...

Although the JBL does lack a SUBSONIC FILTER

I used to use PPI amps religiously before my current venture into car audio, and always loved...they were always monsters when it came to power...My favorite amp from them is probably their art series amp, that thing was great.

I've never heard or used the Tsunami amp but I can't believe there would be a noticeable difference between them and the PPI amps....although, from what i've heard, PPI's quality has gone down a bit since I used it last.

Basically we have access to the remaining stock of these units and they belong to Avionixx. I'm basically helping them get them out of there. Can't produce the new Avionixx units until we get rid of the tsunami amps in the warehouse.

Thus the pricing. We need to get rid of them fast, so they are cheaper than you'd normally see them that's for sure.

The Tsunami amps are in fact designed by the same people who did the Avionixx equipment. The 1100, 4440, 1800 internally are not as beefy you might call it as their Avionixx counterparts. Avionixx really stresses some types of PCB's and chips to get a little more performance out of their amps (which inherintly makes them more expensive obviously). Coating some parts of the electronics keep up power output longer. (I'm not a electric engineer so all I can really do is forwarding my understanding about it.) That was a nice thing about the avionixx amps, is they are, and they know the answer to all that picky stuff I just can scratch the surface of.

The Tsunami 1800 is essentially the beta version of the 1800.2 from avionixx. Since then it's been tweaked to do a little more power, work in the Avionixx case (tsunami cases are a little larger), beefed up the power supply, and as far as I know stacking them and making the next gen of 1200.2 stackable as well. Problem is we can't build the 'next gen' units until we get the tsunami units outa here.

If you want to look at them in kind of a interesting light as if they were one line where would it fit. Think of it as when you see the Arc line the KAR is great stuff, and the XXK is the little bit beafier, sturdier, more detailed stuff. Think of the tsunami stuff as something like a comparison the KAR, as the avionixx to like a XXK. Doesn't mean the KAR isn't good, or that the tsunami amps aren't good. It means there's a step further it can be taken like in the XXK or Avionixx line. -Hopes that made sense to read- lol.
