Im planning on getting either 2 12" Titanium or 2 12" Aluminum eclipse subs. Im not to sure what to go with. If I go w/ the Titanium Ill have to get a more powerful amp,which I plan on doing later. Would under powering the subs damage them if I went with the titaniums. The amp I have is a Kenwood eXelon 301T, 300W @ 4ohms and 400W @ 2ohms. Thanks For any help

underpowering has never and will never damage a speaker...

as long as you dont push the amp into serious clipping by overcompensating gains etc and driving the amp into that state, you will not damage your subs...

just make sure you are not trying to foce more out of hte amp thean it can give, and you will be ok...

is your amp 1ohm stable or are you going to wire the subs to 4ohms?

Eclipse Alus over Titaniums

JMac is correct 2ohm stable on the amp, but will most likely run at 4ohms with dual voice coils. The only reason Im not sure which sub to get is the issue of powering them. I know that they are an expencive sub, but the price for them is not really a concern, becuse my brother works for an Eclipse dealer and can get the titaniums for $175. each and the alums for $115. each. I think Ill just go with the alums probably cant go wrong there. Thanks for the help

its only suppossed to be for family if its for anyone alse he can get fired, but I dont know I only need two. Also that new 4,oooW amp is $600 or $300 I dont remember

You're talking about the Ti Elite, right ?

actually Phoenix Gold has come out with a 3VC Ti sub, it is supposed to be unreal, it is on their site, but as all PG products I am guessing the Price will be astronomical, but I would kill for and Eclipse Ti Pro/elite
