Have you owned a Eclipse Ti? If not...you won't realize how big the surround is. I owned both of these subs. The new XXX has ultra excursion behind the fat and TALL surround. It was designed to sustain a 54 mm excursion.

How do you know how much BL loss a xxx has at 54mm, and if it were far beyond 30% wouldn’t that make RE’s numbers exaggerated (as in they claim its linear, or less than 30% bl loss)?

You know about as much as me. My experience tells me that it is a bit exaggerated, but I don’t have the speaker. I would like to see driver on a real measurement system. So far I have not even seen a T/S report, which arguably doest tell very much but its better than nadda

You'd be supprised. Get the sub and play with it and see what it's made of. I'm a retailer and I've owned almost every sub TC and RE made. If you're a build house...then you should really test what the competitors are up to rather than guess and assume.

I can choose to carry any brand at the shop...yet I choose RE. And not only that...we're the top dealer for RE in the nation. Personally...I think every other manufacture should convince me otherwise.

If funny you say that because RE uses some our parts, at least the 05's did. We're really not a competitor, just a good old build house like you said.

Not a competitor? Are you forgeting that RE is a build house also? Build house vs. build house?

What about building a driver for SPL? Does TC build any decent SPL drivers? Haven't seen anything in DBDRAG at all....??

Perhaps your best drivers just isn't the best in the market. Otherwise everybody would have one. All that I'm saying is before you start running your mouth guessing anything just get the **** RE sub and test it to get some real results. It's that simple. Then you can post all the results you want with the ti vs the xxx.

The 06 ****in moves. Thats for sure, I think it easily gets the 54mm. And I don't see TC ever building a fart machine.

Come on….the “boner” stuff is just getting old, hell, tuan has already said he is an authorized dealer of Eclipse, if that isn’t proof enough that he does or has liked them I don’t know what is…He simply prefers the RE’s stuff to TC’s, no harm in that. Hell, after owning several drivers from each company being talked about I would tend to agree with him.

Tuan’s point about the tc guy not knowing anything about the RE driver is spot on, which is why I asked him if he knew if the BL was below 30% at 54mm….I figured he didn’t, which he readily admitted to, so In my opinion I don’t think he needs to comment on it. Fair enough?

Btw before you start with the “fanboy” and “boner” stuff with me, just know that RE isn’t my favorite company by any stretch and I don’t agree with the way they handle a lot of things. They do on the other hand make nice woofers.
