With a proper install do you think 1 of the '06 xxx 12's would own in spl and sq a pair of 12" eclipse ti's? It would be running off an eclipse da 7232. About 2k rms. I am stuck with a moderatly small trunk but 4 cubes to work with for the internal of the box. I thought about a pair of mx 12'sbut they are only in dual 2's and I need to be at a 2 ohm load per sub or per vc if only using one sub.

I realize surface area blah blah but I have seen 1 own 2 quite a few times. Plus the rarity of re around here.No one even knows what I am talking about when I say re. So that wouldn't be a stupid question.

Eclipse Titaniums are not good subs as most of you think. First...it's an old design and technology. Super fat surround serves no advantage...actually decreases Sd. Interchangeable cartridge forces the build to have a big gap to compensate for the percentage of error with every cartridge. Essentially...double the acceptable error range. This bigger gap will result in a decreasted motor strength.

Have you owned a Eclipse Ti? If not...you won't realize how big the surround is. I owned both of these subs. The new XXX has ultra excursion behind the fat and TALL surround. It was designed to sustain a 54 mm excursion.

Imight just buy one and If the 2 ti's are greater thenIwill hold onto thexxx andget another one and put them in the suv I am going to make an spl ride out of. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

as for the lack of excursion. just drop play a 20 hz tone and it looks like the dub 7 on ROE.Crazy lookin. But with music and the small box I have them in I wont see full excursion with music.

The Ti's don't have a bigger gap as a result of the replaceable top assembly. The Bl over Re of the Ti (non pro)s are somewhere around 230... you call that a weak motor?
