Eclipse SW9122TI vs 88120Ti

hahah i doubt the specs for a box for a 91 or an 88 were .7 my 15 was recommended like 3.8-4 i think
Ok, the sheet said 1 ft^3 sealed, I'm saying qtc of .707 was in a box of .7ft^3

The 15 had different requirements, I know because when I had TC send me a new top assembly I ordered a 15, but they sent me another 12. I had already built a box. Not the point. Point is recommended vented enclosure for the 12 was 1.5 ft^3 tuned to 35. I tried that, sounded better at 1.1 tuned to 30.

you should try 1.6-2.0 at 30-32 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
lowering the tuning would make a huge difference with that particular sub
Lower than 30? I mean I wouldn't be shocked if thats what this woofer wanted but I know I at least modeled it in WinISD a few times and it didn't look promising.

i know what winsd says... but trust me, try 30-32 tuning in 1.6-2.0 cubic feet with 35-40 square inches of port area...
I actually have an old (ugly) box for a different woofer that is 1.7 at 28...might try it tomorrow, although 1.6 at 35 is pretty close to that already. But even if it does sound better, the surround is still being held together by goop on one side and silicone glue on the other. It might sound better but I'm still pissed that the surround on this sub has ripped twice, and I really don't think my choice in enclosure or amplifier had anything to do with that.

I know a guy that Had to TI 10's in a 4cu.ft net box tuned to 30HZ with a BIG port and he was doing a 150.2db on the AC 180 I think
Maybe I should have specified that loud was not my primary goal. I originally wanted a sub that would have authority and sq in a largish car without taking up all my trunk space. Unrealistic expectations? Probably, however I don't think a sub at this price point should have surround issues....I mean the vc, cone, everything else is golden but the foam failed twice.

Now this thread has been completely jacked, again my bad....although the original question was answered already....

try it... tuning lower makes 3hps sound SO much better imo.... and the surround eclipse wanted to use on those subs is notorious for having prolems

Where else does one get a tc recone?
i got mine made by PAP (pierce audio products)

but there are a few other places that can recone them as well

FI (will change the basket tho)

Team PSI could prolly get you the parts (but you would also have to change the basket)

robot underground

02parkave might have the parts, you'd have to check with him
