Eclipse SW8200

I found a bunch of these '06 12's on ebay, for pretty cheap ($200). Has anyone here heard these subs? I've read that they are a really good SQ sub, but can still get quite loud. I'm looking to replace my 2 10's to save space.

Any info on these subs would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have a box information sheet for this woofer? I have no idea where to find it. I looked on their website, nothing. I really want to find out how big a box it needs sealed, because i'm trying to go smaller vs 2 10's in 1cube each.

Very nice subs with our linear voice coil. They kill the Ti's for sound quality. You can use em a smallish sealed box or a about a 4-5 cubic foot ported box, but that is tricky because the Fs is low, you need to port em kind of deep or else you may get into some peak problems. Or you can try and port em above Fs, which is Ok too.

They work best in a sealed box because the Q is about 0.55, they are similar to the LMS-4000 so look at those recommendations after they are posted.

In that link that squeak posted, he says 4 cu ft sealed for a QTC of .707

Then he says that he shoved it in a 1 cu ft box with polyfill and the sound was overly bottom heavy for him, so I'm confused. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Hoping someone could explain to me how thats possible.

Yea, I'm hoping to keep the box around 1 cube for space, as I'd like to use my rear hatch space more.

If this sub can't perform well around 1cu then I'm going to have to look for another driver.

I have heard this sub but not behide a huge amp yet. Most Eclipse Alum subs i feel should be over powered abit.

It sounds great... Little better than the t4's. But it has WAY longer legs....

Sounds diff from Ti... Some may say the Ti sounds stronger. SW8200 is a SQ Sub.

The books says not to port it....

I also have the book in my hand if anyone needs info...

Eclipse doesnt say one box size suits all....
