Eclipse SW8200

Have you heard from Eclipse as to what size and type of enclosure the 8200 and 8000 require? I have tried to find some information about the LMT motors but have yet to find anything. What is the primary benefit of this design? Thanks, Mike Gettinger
They are sealed box recommended. The 12" requires .5-1.5ft^3 with 1.0ft^3 being optimum. I haven't heard what the 10" requires, however I would imagine that somewhere around .75ft^3 would be optimum.

The benefits are similiar to XBL or the SGLC design of the W7, only in a different manner. Basically you'll get much longer and cleaner stroke with the flat BL curve curve of the LMT design over a standard subwoofer. The result is less distortion and more clean output potential.

I think you just changed my mind on this years setup. I have a DA7122 on order from Eclipse. My plans for the past six months consited of pairing it with a SW9122. Two of the SW8200's is starting to sound pretty good.

If you are in or around the Houston area I know where we could get them for a fair price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

from what i've been told from tc sounds its basically an rl-p with lmt technology, tc9 motor. heres a couple things he posted....

A little cleaner than the SS LMT because of the surround and 1 less spider, but not quite the excursion due to shorter coil, it will still pull 3" peak to peak if you push it. Its definitely in the category of a SQL driver and certainly is the best SQL driver I have come across. Sounds a lot better than a 12W7, and the head to head tests I did on a klippel confirmed that.

the Eclipse SW's like I said are the TC9's. I'm not supposed to say this publicly but since you all know we make Eclipse , I think its in their best interest for me to let you know its the TC9 motor which is pretty darn good if I may say so myself. Its basically the linear version of the RL-p if you will.
