Okay.

Say I want two Eclipse SW7200

Specifications on each sub is as follows...

Size: 12"

FS: 28hz

DCR: 4OHM + 4OHM (DVC of course)

RMS: 500 Watts

MAX: 1500 Watts

Is it bad if I were to use two Rockford P500-2 Amplifiers (One for each sub)

Specifications are as follows for each amplifier...

# of Channels: 2

Rated Power: 125W x 2 @ 4-Ohms RMS

250W x 2 @ 2-Ohms RMS

500W x 1 @ 4-Ohms bridged RMS

I also plan on using a 1 farad Rockford Digital capacitor for each amplifier.

Does it degrade the power for the amplifier to be bridged or what?

I'm illiterate in some areas of the car audio realm.

These are good quality speakers as most of you already know.

Would I be killing the quality of the sound by using a punch amplifier on each one?

Or will it do alright. I don't plan on going into any audio competitions.

Just want something reasonably loud but nothing to crazy.

Any help would be appreciated.

Please and thank you.

well seeing as those subs are 4 ohm dvc they can be wired @ 2 or 8 ohms, you would have to run the amps in stero mode with each vc gettig its own channel.

each sub would be seeing 250 watts rms , might as well just wire them in paralell then series for a final 4 ohm load and just use 1 amp

each sub would be seeing the same 250 watts each with less strain on your electrical ad less fuss with the install.

Well I am aiming to get an amp for each one.

If I were to get an amp that pushes 500 rms to each sub what would you recommend but what also would you recommend for a single amp for both subs to get the 500 rms to each sub?

I'm looking to get the lightest load on my car/sub/amps.

Wouldn't that mean I should get more OHMs?

Ok.

That's what I was looking for.

Something to describe all this stuff.

DVC is new but I just read a little on it.

So if it is a 500 RMS DVC sub.

Do I need to treat each VC as 250 RMS?

Or Treat just one VC as 500 RMS or what?

Right.

Starting to understand it more.

So a DVC just opens up your options a little.

But they are each 4OHM VC... isn't that what 4ohm + 4 ohm means.

That each VC needs 4 ohms?

If you were to power just one sw7200 what amplifier would you use to get the best quality output? and why? If I'm not being to much of a hassle.

This is how I learn.

each vc doesn't need 4 ohms, it IS 4 ohms. thats the nominal electrical impedance through the VC.

Matching the RMS output of the amplifier with the RMS of the sub woofers at the desired impedance is the goal here.

Read on BCAE for the difference between resistance and impedance.

So...

If I were to get two sw7200 Running at 500 rms (4ohm) being DVC.

I could get one monoblock running it at 1000RMS Run the (+) output from the amplifier to one (+) on each speaker and the (-) output from the amplifier to one (-) on each speaker (series). Then run them paralell.

Like the second picture at the bottom of this page?

Correct me if I'm wrong because I already have a doubt but then again I'm over analyzing.

If I'm running 500 RMS for each sub and using a 1000 RMS monoblock. The subs will only draw out the power they need? Which in all will be 1000 RMS. That is because it is wired in series the 1000 RMS will be split up by the wiring delivering only 500 rms to each speaker?
