thanks man... so 80$ for a pair is a decent price I guess... might see if he would come off the other one to for 120$

Those look like 86000 series Eclipse woofers made before 2005 or so.

For entry level woofers, they actually sound pretty darn good. Very similar to the older Alpine Type S woofers...just a little smoother sounding.

The subs in the DIYMA link is for the model above those. The big difference is that the 87's need a tiny sealed box and really-really shake things up when ported. The flagship woofers, the 8800 aluminum coned woofers, actually had less output than the 8700 series.

doubt that I don't know where he got that information from but the aluminums are much better all around.

$80 is not a horrible price really.

As for the other posts, they are not comparable to the higher end subs. They do great for what they are and will impress you.

They are not rare.

Aight thanks... They won't really be for anything other than taking my powerbass xl84's out of my brothers truck and throwing one of these in there. Was just making sure $80 for 2 is a good/bad price on them.

In order to answer your question, I would need to know what model (e.g. SW4200, SW7524DVC). Also, are you looking to make a ported box or sealed?
