Eclipse, or Pioneer?

My buddy has an Eclipse CD5000 that definatly sounds great but its a ***** to use. its not the most user friendly deck i've ever installed... but i remind you, the sound is excellent. Its running through amps so the 8volt pre outs definatly help.

We're both used to pioneers very easy to use radios... i've been seeing alot of hype about the DEH-P880PRS. Would the sound quality compare to the eclipse? What all would he loose from dropping down to the pioneer?

any meaningfull input apreciated.

I evaluated the CD5000 before my P880PRS purchase. IMO I saw nothing that was better then the Pioneer, and quite frankly the P880PRS is a very nice HU. How many posts have you seen that indicate otherwise. When compared to the CD5000 I would call it more or lateral move on SQ and tuning, but it is a significant dowgrade in price only. 8 volt vs 5 volt preouts not a great big deal IMO. If you are thinking about it the best thing to do is to go check it out at your local dealer.
