Eclipse head unit problem

I am having problems with a head unit install. I had an Eclipse head unit "professional" installed by a local dealer in my Camry 2 years ago. I now dry a different vehicle so I took the head unit out of the Camry myself and installed in my new vehicle. The problem is that the head unit immediately turns on as soon as i reconnect the negative battery terminal after I plugged in the harness, antenna, and preamp cables. The key is not on accessory nor is the car on. In fact, the key is not even in the ignition. Somehow, the head unit turns on without any power requested. Help appreciated.

Try and switch the red and yellow wires around. Red is the memory wire(saves the decks settings), the yellow is the constant.

I agree with switching the wires and trying that.

Although Yellow is the memory, hence the constant power. Red is switched, obviously not retaining memory. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Who said to hook the blue wire to a power input, you should be shot. You know better than that dude. The blue wire on an Eclipse head unit is the power antenna trigger wire. By the sounds of it you have wired the red wire to a constant power source with the yellow wier also receiving a constant power source. Double check the red wire, it needs to receive +12volts with the key in the on or acc position only.
