eclipse gs fiberglass worklog **PICS**

he used a shit load of bondo on the side by the door, be it spot putty or not. but it looks good, is this the correct way of molding a kit on? i never figured that one out, but looks good so far, i do body work as well.......when i have to.

pretty much is - yep.

id be worried about flexing\vibrations and the seams cracking alot tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

yup that is right i molded my kit in on my dime and i have to redo it every year and repaint it from body flex and the bass but i do have a blow thur so that weakens the body

and house of kolor isn't that bad in price shooting it is the b!tch trying not to get that cloudy splotchy look sucks @ss

bump for some more pics

-- UPDATE 6/9/2005 --

Car is painted! still no fiberglass pics but the car turned out great IMO and for painting it himself he didnt do to bad at all. he is gonna lower the car after he can find a safe way to get it in and out of the driveway (he's got adjustable coilovers). Yes it looks pretty rice with the wing and i told him that but he is making this a show car so I can't really blame him. Ricers get way more attention than other cars do.

skep, in all honesty, i think you should have gone further with this, and not done a regular box for the bottom //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
im not sure on how thats going to look with a square bottom like that.

would have been much more awesome if you used that back board, a floor board, and glassed the two rings facing the opposite angles (away from eachother) and stretched to the entire floor - even up the front wall a little - and put the ampracks on the front of the box on the big flat glassed area...

you arent too far along to go this way eaither!!!
just saw this..... man he just wants to get this done. and the way we are doing it i figured would be the quickest way. glass a solid box first, then glass from the box to the rest of the car so it looks good.

ey i'll see if he likes the idea tho. i mean that would look really clean to do.

i really like the paintjob. turned out MUCH better than i imagined it would //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

but yea, yo ucan just make a regular ported box, and then fiberglass a 'hood' over the top to conceal the box\wire\battery\whatever. mount it to the box like you would another baffle, cut the holes, stick it on, and put the woofs over it...

go get some extra gasket trim (the junk around the trunk thingie there that seals it shut) then get some thinner fleece, and tape the whole trunk off - make some mounts (like a baffle for a fiberglas box) to hold the amps (as shown) and put the box in its final position (maybe round the corners with some bondo or somthing) then - stretch the fleece and use the extra gasket to hold it over that edge so it contours over the amplifier 'baffle' mounts, and the face of the box\port (no subs installed) then glass it (make SURE you cover the inside of the trunk with some plastic or somthin, it can and will drip thru the fleece)

then it dires, remove the gasket, andyou should be able to paint resin on that area now that the rest is hard and its being held up by the box\amp mounts.

the stock gasket should fit over the top of your little lip there, (DO NOT forget to mask this whole edge!) and then just bondo\paint it.

really a simple way to cover that ugly trunk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
