What I've been saying is that you cannot get 16v balanced WITHOUT the BLA- what about that is hard to understand? From what you just stated, it seems we are on the same boat.

Max, we are on the same boat only if you are now finally convinced that it is the head unit (and it is mulitple RCA pairs) that are the source of the 16 volts, and that it is the BLA that simply converts the balanced 16-volt signal to a more commonly usable, unbalanced 8-10 volts.
Btw, where's johnecon2001? The guy has merely a 1-meter 16-volt cable run and completely missing out on the advantages of the technology he owns.

Some would say the BLA and the lack of an amplifier in the 8053 make this head unit better while others would say the 8454 and its features, as previously noted, are more important to them and thus the 8454 would be the superior choice.
