Eclipse CD Changer Question

I've got a Eclipse CD8053 and just recently purchased one of the in-dash 6 disc changers for it. The model I got is a 5961 which was made before the 8053 I know. I searched before I bought it and found a few case's where they were used together.

I just got the changer in today and the E-Lan plug is totally different and isn't compatibly with the 8053. Their are also no other connectors on the changer except a 2ft. long cable, did Eclipse send supply voltage, turn-on, ground and audio signal through the lone cable? I've seen a picture of the 5061 that has a box attached, which is probably a converter?

If someone would help me out I would be forever grateful and if they aren't compatible then it's up for sale. Thanks in advance to anyone.
