Eclipse 8454 vs Eclipse 8455

Seems that any Eclipse deck's have GREAT sq....especialy compared to alpine i find, i just made the switch

8455 is '05 (sirius ready, Circle Surround Sound, GPS), 8454 is '04....same everything else featurewise

what he means is that I guess some people have said the 9855 is the exact same model as the 9835 but we all know that the performance of the 9855 is slightly less than the 9835 and it also had some problems. Hence, if there is the same effect with Eclipse, going from 04 model to 05 model, the 05 model is supposed to be the same model but has problems.

The answer to that is no. Eclipse has not gone down in quality except for maybe the appearance. A little fruity on the colors but still good decks.

Both are top notch. Can't go wrong w/ either of them. Don't want Sirius, get the 8454. CSII is nothing to get excited about. Want 5 color illumination and more bling, get the 8455. I had the 8454 and switched to the 8445 and sq stayed the same....REALLY GOOD!!!

The colors and bling make it kinda fruity looking tho. I would get the 8454. More professional look to it.

I say it depends on what one you can get cheaper. I found a NIB 8454 for only $329 shipped, but couldnt find a 8455 for less than $599 plus tax. Im very happy with the 8454!

I saw on 8454 on ebay 2 weeks ago amd almost went for it, but I wanted NIB w/warranty, so I got the 8455 for 575 after tax and Shipping. I like the looks 100x more on the 8454 though, It'll grow on me after time I'm sure. That's about it.

I hate it how people talk about how 8445 and 8455 look. IMO an awesome looking deck and couldn't be happier. I understand everyone has their own opinion but i love the way my 8455 looks.

If you bought it off ebay, you might have a very hard time actually getting eclipse warranty service.

Never said I bought it off Ebay. That's where I happened to find a used 8454. I went to our local dealer to my 8455.
