Did you play around with all the different colors (background/foreground) and find the best contrasting text?
I'm nervous because I'm replacing my Alpine 9807 with the x993 in my convertible. It's sitting in my basement but I probably won't get around to installing it until the weekend. I never had a problem with the Alpine's display no matter how much sun and could tell from the reviews that I might have an issue with the Kenwood. The driving force for the change is that the Kenwood will be much easier to control my Ipod and has about a million more features. I'm also curious how the BT will work with the top down. Oh well, I'll wait until it's in the car before I make judgement. If I'm not happy, I sell the Kenwood for a small loss and look into the Pioneer Premier DEH-P710BT.
