Electronics, Cars, Fashion, Collectibles, Coupons and More |eBayWhat was your ebay item #?
Like I said your evidence won't even matter eBay doesn't play that game even if you sent them those pictures they would still make you give that guy a refund you better hope he just doesn't send you a box of rocks because all they have to do is show proof of delivery and that's it honestly the guy could say the CD changer works fine he just doesn't want it anymore and they'll make you give them a refund, in the fine print of the eBay agreement it it says that you will allow a buyer to return a item for any reason up to 45 daysThe photos are also the evidence i have. Plus a few more pics and 2 videos
I did not read that. Im effed. 45 days is ridiculous for a used item sold as isLike I said your evidence won't even matter eBay doesn't play that game even if you sent them those pictures they would still make you give that guy a refund you better hope he just doesn't send you a box of rocks because all they have to do is show proof of delivery and that's it honestly the guy could say the CD changer works fine he just doesn't want it anymore and they'll make you give them a refund, in the fine print of the eBay agreement it it says that you will allow a buyer to return a item for any reason up to 45 days
it really doesn't matter the time frame you set i at you could put no returns accepted and it doesn't matter they still give the buyer a grace period to return it if they claim its broken by the way I just got my crossover order from you guys can't wait to hook it upI am fairly certain that the "return period" isn't 45 days, it's what you set it at in your listings. That being said buyers are protected for a certain time period (typically 60 days after the last action in a transaction) so that they don't get screwed.
We set our return policy to 60 days a couple of years ago (the first to do so!) but we could have had it be 14 days and eBay would have to abide by that. Buyers could leave us negative feedback, but that's a whole other can of worms.

Yeah thats all very good advice. If i ever sell on ebay again im going to get a crap load of proof and b very detailed with my post descriptioni've had two buyers in the past year contact me regarding items that were damaged in shipping. one was a legit claim, USPS must have played baseball with it. I offered a full refund and got back scrap metal. The other was a buyer claiming damage so I offered a full refund once he shipped the speakers back. He declined and just wanted some money. We spoke on the phone and I continued to offer a full refund upon return of equipment. He chose to keep the speakers.
I try to talk it out with people, get photos, etc. I can tell what someone knows pretty quick.
Lessons here are to always document serial numbers, always include usernames and dates in photos, and add disclaimers for sold as-is and state the return policy.
I've also learned to pack things as if the shipping company will throw it against a wall.
they got a section item not returned in sent condition.... so if he sends bricks it can be claimed..... and you can turn off returns like mine is.... the only reason that something can be returned to my store is if.... Item not as described with proof...Like I said your evidence won't even matter eBay doesn't play that game even if you sent them those pictures they would still make you give that guy a refund you better hope he just doesn't send you a box of rocks because all they have to do is show proof of delivery and that's it honestly the guy could say the CD changer works fine he just doesn't want it anymore and they'll make you give them a refund, in the fine print of the eBay agreement it it says that you will allow a buyer to return a item for any reason up to 45 days
this is false too... I've had about four claims and disputes ebay has never held money unless they were gettin it to refund someone.... once refund paid no holds... ebay only places that hold on new sellers....You can win your case but it still wont matter when you sell something else on eBay paypal will hold your money for up to 21 days just because you had an altercation with a buyer.
like he said best thing to do is always insure.... I've had usps break like 3 packages... cashed me out in full, even refunded the shipping..You should've put the full insurance on it. I hate to hear that, but that's one thing I make sure to do with eBay is have full ins, and require signature confirmation. There's all sorts of ways for buyers to screw the sellers, but doing those two things everything have kept my *** covered since I began requiring it. Just for future reference, use signature confirmation as well. Delivery confirmation isn't enough according to eBay to ensure the buyer received the package. Had this happen to me about a year ago, so I lost the item and had to offer a full refund, because the buyer claimed he never received the package, but USPS said it was delivered.
This stuff definitely cuts into overhead, especially with the eBay/PP fees nowadays, but it's that or risk instances like what you're going through. I really don't sell as much on there anymore unless there's a pretty large profit margin for me or I just want toget rid of something.
