Ebay Buyer... How to explain about it?

Sorry if this is the wrong section, however asking for info about compatibility between the head unit and another vehicle, I don't know where else I would put it...

Basically I sold my unit (Got a vehicle it won't work in) to a guy on Ebay. Worked 100% fine when I shipped it.

He insists it won't power on or do a darn thing. I think he either isn't hooking it up right (or fried it), or doesn't have the proper wire harness kit, or SOMETHING.

Just looking for help here to explain some of the reasons why it is an error on his part- the problem is I just don't know enough about it to sound "legit". All I know is it works perfectly fine.

Thanks!

ask him to have it benched, to take a pic of the receipt, then call and make sure its a legit place. I had it happen to me, but the speakers just werent getting sound. Ended up being a power setting on the HU that turned off the int. amp.

Everything I sell that has to do with car audio on Egay, I would always list that professional installation must be done for me to honor any issues with the product.

Basically, if that person bought the shipping insurance, and also hasn't had the item more than a few days, you are screwed. They will file a claim with Egay and Paypal, and more than likely, the claim will be awarded in the buyers favor.

He didn't buy insurance. Another plus argument for me (Although I'll wait for HIM to bring up and I'll point this fact out).

Good point, though about taking it to a place to have them check it out (What do they do- have various connections they can hook it up to to make sure it works?). I responded to the dispute asking if he was aware that it he may need a harness kit to make it work with his car: will see what he says.

Lucky for me I guess: I transferred funds to bank account immediately after getting them- so PayPal can't freeze them at least (They are already deposited). I'm guessing PayPal cannot withdraw funds without any authorization, so they can't do much anyway?

EGay is right. At the same time as this- I am getting screwed by another buyer not paying for another item... EGAY sucks.

never had it happen to me but stories ive heard say that paypal can take funds from whatever bank acct you have connected to the site.

Not good- should I delete off those account links or something?

take it off your account for one.

go to your bank, talk with the manager or whomever and tell them not to allow any withdrawals to be made from paypal.

Well- says he bought a new one from Circut City (Same model)- used the same old harness and it worked.

Naturally I asked to see the receipt. He sent it to me- and although he did indeed buy it- it had installation from Circuit City on here. Meaning they could've used different parts and never said a word about it- as it is all included in an installation cost.

What now? Thinking of calling the store down there and finding out what an installation entails.

Edit- looked up the harness on Crutchfield and ran his vehicle against it- not compatible. I guess it is easier on me.

If he used it- he used the wrong thing. His fault.

If he used his own thing- I never tested it with anything else- so I can't really be to blame...

it is an electronic you always sell those as is. because you are not there to oversee the install. i had a guy try to get me on the fact that the amp had a scratch and looked like it had been open and i sent it to him brand new and had pictures of it, he was trying to get $120 from me to send the amp to jl to have it checked out, i told him to piss off that it was sold as is.
