if you have a big box...Cerwin Vega Stroker...especially the 15" and 18". those will get loud with very little power.. i remembered someone hitting 149dB with only 200 watts RMS to his 18" stroker. so that 96db 1w/1m sensitivity actually is kinda true...:p

my friend, hector, won the iasca back in 1992/3.... he only had 500 watts in his car... 50 x 2 on kef components and two 200x2 on each 15 stroker.. amp were phoenix gold... he its not about the watts, its about the installation especially box design... i have two L7 and he's convincing me to get stroker.. he said he can make one stroker sound like 3 L7... he convinced me! so anyone who wants to buy L7 brand new email me jjoven@optonline.net . i have pictures, its brand new in a box.. $400 shipped

what's the rms?? i was thinking about getting one but i won't if my 1000 watts aint good enough.....

now i'm leading towards 2 L5 12s or elemental or whatever that ish is called after brock tells me how he 10 does

a ported brahma with 1000watts rms will rip you a new one if you build the box right. they are a great subwoofer and can handle more but more than 1600rms daily and your gonna fry the thing.

1600rms will make you deaf before you fry that sub:crazy:

i dunno L5's are very good SPL subs. read my setup i hit a 148.4 with 750watts rms to a single L5 15" and that is on the dash so they are capable SPL subs. 1600 won't fry your ear drums just might make them hurt at first i plan on running at least 1400watts rms to my next setup.

Is that the 2002 Model L5 you using?? I'm interested in the 2002 model of the L7... Will that be mad bass? is it worst the extra 100 something buck to get the 12L7 over the L5?

what frequency did you tune your box also?
