Ear Stretching

So I've had 9/16 gauge earrings in for about a week now, and Im thinking about taking them out. Does anybody know the "point of no return"? I've heard so many things like 4ga, 0ga, 00ga, idk. Would my ears close up eventually if I did decide to take them out?

I had mine up to 3/4 and ive shrunk them down to 7/16 now.

My girlfriend had 2 gauge about a year ago, and she stopped wearing them now its back normal. For people that dont know about that earring crap, a "2g" earring is about the same as a 4g wire with the shielding from what i could tell, she wouldnt let me stick any power wire through her ear though.

Im at 7/8" - 1" right now and I did take them out for a while. Smallest it went to was a 1/2. I know a few people who were at 5/8" and now its back to a bit bigger than a 14g. Had a 2g in another place that only closed to about a 8g :/

I had no problem finding a job. Considering I have visable tattoos and such. They werent even an issue. I actually work for a respectable company doing job estimates, detailing, engineering and so on.

As long as its all tastefully done (tattoos and piercings) A lot of places are more tolerant now. Im pretty sure anything 1" and under can be shrunk down to a normal 12ga size. I had a friend who had huge gauges and he had to get his sown shut you cant even tell he ever had a piercing there now.
