ear pressure but I don't feel it that loud

i'm willing to bet you didn't set your subsonic filter (if it's ported) and some of the songs have some random extremely low frequencies do to a bad mp3 or something and it's rattling your ear-drums to shist lol

those low frequencies won't hurt him knowing that we cannot hear them. subsonic filters help the sub from damaging itself and possibly the amp. It would be useless to use voltage on frequencies that we cannot hear sot he subsonic filter blocks it out.

unless he has super sonic hearing. SHIZZAM!!!!

just because u can't hear it doesn't mean it can't do damage... correct me if i'm wrong but subsonic frequencies can and have damaged hearing... if extremely high frequencies can be damaging, why wouldn't really low frequencies as well? just a thought... i'm not sure so correct me if i'm wrong

Extremely low freqencies can damage your hearing just as bad as any other frequency played at high volumes.

Of course. ANY frequency can damage your hearing if played loud enough. There is no way that 2 10" Low end RE subs, in a sealed box can be damaging his hearing. Not at 25hz and below at least.

Have you considered your highs? Most cases of hearing discomfort are due to the higher frequencies...

Thats what i was commenting on, and i know that those 10s probably arent getting that low

I had my system running without the subs and it was just fine. I've set the crossover low pass for the subs at 80 hz.

I don't know maybe my ears are scrapped and my friend's ears too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Some people have very sensitive ears, that can't take constant low frequency notes. You may just be one. Giving that it is in the cabin with you, If it is directly aimed towards your ear this is not a good thing. That is like a pair of 10" insanely loud headphones. Just try to keep it down a bit.

Yeah I kinda have no closed trunk cause my car is a hatchback, maybe I should try to seal the back of the car where the subs are to see how it is. I'll try turning them against the rear bench first.

Maybe you are right, and it's just my ears. I must be ok in clubs because I'm too drunk to feel the pain //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/toast.gif.bc0657bf54b9ee653b6438524461341e.gif

you said you had it crossed over at 80 hz, i know personally i had just some weak 12's crossedover that high and i constantly got headaches, but once i droped it down to about 60 hz cross over i was fine and pressure was gone, could it just be that it's those higher ranges hurting u, specially since there tens, can you try to lower the crossover frequency

What did you make the box out of? How did you attach the box together? Glue, screws, nails, all? Do you have any bracing? What you're talking about sounds more like ear fatigue, which is a side effect of enclosure resonance. I sugguest a new enclosure, 3/4 MDF, Double baffle, 120% larger internal net volume, lots of bracing, and a hint of polyfill.
