Ear piercing mids. not treble?

Hertz esk 165.5 component speakers. sundown 150.4

I have to turn the mids to completely -8 to enjoy some songs on full tilt but its like high frequency noises that are hurting. Things i think my tweeters should be doing...

Also im assuming treble adjjust...is also tweeter adjust??

I have it wired going through the passive crossover. So its HP at like 100-200hz.

Ms Paint >. > but thats where i have it on the HP and at 1x not 10x. So jjust barely turned up.
let me get this straight, from your other post it seems you want things half active by using the amp as a crossover for the mids and the tweeters still on the passive crossover?

If you are using mids then you need to have it on Low pass x10 not high pass. Low pass means it filters out all frequencies above. High pass filters frequencies below and that is usually done by the head unit not the amp.

Ok Ok Ok. Currently i have it running from Hu-amp- passive crossovers- woofer/tweeter.

Channel 1/2 are going to the front stage. Channel 3/4 are going to rear fill speakers.

Channel 1/2 have the same low set HP at that low setting.

What is the difference between having all frequencies above 200 going to the mids and highs, vs all frequencies below 5khz going to the mids and highs. That just makes the mids do more bass and thats my subwoofers job..

I dont have them hooked up active yet... woofer and tweeter are both still running through the crossovers. I want to hook just the woofer up active though.

So woofer and tweeter(left door) are on channel 1. woofer and tweeter(right door) on channel 2.

and the back 2 6x9s on channels 3 and 4. So i have to set it on HP to all frequencies that arent bass and sub-bass go to my woofer and tweeter.

Im afraid to run my tweeters on a dedicated 150 rms channel. Eh...

More clapping sounds and cymbals and the like.

The clapping sound at 00:16. is really bright and hurts. Some of Lana Del Rays high pitched vocals do the same thing as well. No problem with SSSS sounds though.
I think maybe its just speaker direction and needing some EQ. My HU is an excelon x598. Has center frequencies for bass and mids, but not treble. Not alot of options for tuning when it comes to what frequencies are too attenuated.

Such as??could you give me a few actual products so i know where to start looking?
Budget? Is used ok?

There are plenty of good headunits you just have to look around. Look at its specs and make sure it has a 24 bit DAC and other tuning goodies. Looks like you're looking for more sound tweaking so those $100 headunits won't cut it.
