EA vs. Mean Green vs. Iraggi

I am looking for at least a 200A alt for my 2004 Durango. I am wanting to know out of these alts what are the best quality alts for the best price. How long do they last, you know how reliable are they. Also if anyone has experience with any of these alts tell me how they are. Which one would you guys buy an alt from?

Iraggi makes good alts but the customer service has been sub-par in the past.

Excessive Amperage had some QC issues about three months ago. I don't know if they got them all worked out yet.

Mean Green hasn't failed on anyone yet. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif

Iraggi FTW...he has great customer service to me at least...i got mine put in last week and its goin strong. ive had experience with an EA alternator(s). and lets just say they wont be getting another penny from me.

X2 dom is the bomb, no doubt:D

How many amps would a 1997 ford explorer alternator put out at idle and max? I've searched and can't come up with a clue. I was thinking 115-120 amps max and 80-85 amps idle. Would an iraggi alt that idles at 120 and maxes at 200-240 (depending on model) be able to provide for a powerball 3,000 watt amp? I would have the big 3 run as 0 gauge to my yellow top.

omg you've had it for a week!?!?!?!?!?!? that's certainly long enough to recommend it to someone else.

Screw both of them. I got my OEM amp rebuilt and modified for 140A at the really well known shop here on Long Island for $275

Pretty expensive for a rewound alt. In the long run most of the rewound ones fail though. They aren't built to take on a high amperage load like the HO ones are.

So Iraggi or Mean Green? Because i just researched EA and saw that they had some problems with their alts. Which would put out more at idle and be a better overall product for the money?

As far as output goes.. its all about how much you're willing to pay for.

They're both solid companies.

i paid barely more then that and i have a 275 amp, hell mine would pwn your max rating at idle...
I couldn't find any manufacture out there that had an Alt for a Intrepid under $600

Its a family sedan for christ sakes lol. So I opted to go with my local guy and I went for 140 amps instead of 170 because then that will make me NOT put more power to my sub. (its a money pit) But both options were the same price.

No dimming, rebuilt amp...Im happy
