Which one would you all choose, as my only experience with either of the subs is limited to reading about them. Which is better since they are the same price and have pretty much the same specs, the ED e12a or the Magnum D2? I have heard the magnum d2 seems to have perfect sq, but there have been nothing but good things about the e12a as well.

Website says they have the e12a in stock. Does the e12a have decent sound quality? As long as it has decent sound quality i think i will get that over the d2 due to the spl possibilities.

ummm SPL possibilites of the D2 far exceed those of an e12a. D2 will take the 3kw burp i'll send her, the E12a would not like that at all. great sub just geared more for Sq than SPL. if you want more SPL with fantastic Sq go D2. i say this with confidence b/c i have owned both.

The Magnum's were designed with SQ in mind first and SPL second. It's just a by-product (//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif) that they are great for SPL. If you want a pure mix of SQ and SPL, look no further than a Magnum. Members of this forum that own Magnum's will speak for themselves (just like bumpin_blazer). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'd go with the Magnum if it were my money. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yeah, definitely go with the d2...great driver. AND, i'd recommend taking the member's advice above also...A LOT of experience speaking above. Also, rangerman has also owned and competed with both...and the magnums were like 1.7 db's louder on the mic. go with the magnum, potential is higher in every area. peace

Thanks for the response! Magnum D2 all the way. I am going to be building a custom box for my regular cab pickup. I am going to give it the recomended 1.5cf with a port tuned to 32hz. Will it be able to handle the punishment of the tsunami db1100 at 1-ohm? 1100 watts as a daily driver sub? I know it says the rms is 600.

I know everyone says the magnum d2 is right up there with the w7. Would a RE HC 12 fall short of the d2 in both spl and sq? The only reason i am asking is because it is in the same price range but has a higher rms rating.
