Dynamat, Edead, Second Skin???

second skin will be cheapest. contact 'ifandorbuts' from these forums and let him know youre from here and he'll have something on sale for you.

you really wont see a difference between different brands, it just depends on the model of the product itself. some dampeners are thick others not.

Dynamat is good stuff, but it's ridiculously expensive considering all the equally as good products out there for much less money.

I've tried eDead v.1 (not their thickest stuff) and I was a bit disappointed. My own fault really, I should have gone with the thicker v.2, thickness aside it worked as advertised.

I've heard lots of good stuff about Second Skin and with "Ifandorbuts" here to offer great deals and answers to all your questions, there's little use in looking any further. Here's his website if you want to check some things out.

couldnt have put it better myself

I'd definitely recommend the second skin route...

I've only seen pictures of the product installed, so far, but it really looked superior..

And I bought a roll myself, recently...

I'll post something on it when I get it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I'm all for supporting guys like ifandorbuts.. entrepreneurs who want to help enthusiasts.. and he's a forum regular to boot.

The only other one I would recommend checking out is http://www.fatmat.com...

And their site did have more of an "infomercial" feel to it, which usually sets me off...

But you can get their super ultra mega bulk pack (or whatever they call it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif), 100 sq.ft. for $100.

But that's not much of a savings over the second skin, and you'd be supporting ifandorbuts...

I'll have some pics up when i get the film developed. Check the sig. I only did the inside door skin and not the outer layer, which i am not sure if should have really done. If i need to i could alway cut out the holes i covered and put some in there, but i think it's alright for right now. I'd support ifandorbuts if i were you also, i did. Good guy, good product too. Got to go get it metered and see if i gained a few decibels.

EDIT: Hey ANT, you sent out my package yet? Tracking # or anything?

PS

I would do as much to the doors as you can. is you speakers are in them they will sound & perform better

I pout about 40 feet of DampX and Damplifier in each door of my truck

Well, my speakers aren't in the door so i don't have to worry about that. They still rattle slightly, so i may add some to the outer panel in the summer just for the hell of it. Sounds better though, and much quieter outside too!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Thinkin about doing a second layer on the back wall and roof. It took me 2 1/2 hours to do one door! I mean, it's probably worth it, it was just a pain in the ***.

Originally posted by ifandorbuts I spent about 8 hours on each door.

next car I get will be about 12 hours.
Yeah, well that 2 1/2 hours didn't include taking the door apart. And you gotta remember, i only did one layer on the inner skin only, if i did the outer skin it would've been a good 4 hours. I don't want to do a ton of work deadening because i might get a different car.

well i was gonna make a seperate "Update" post, but o well. I'm working on only my trunk right now. I started saturday in the day time. I worked on it with like 20 min. breaks from 2-5, got home from dinner, decided to plug in a tv in my car and watch a movie, so i worked and listened to that movie twice, plus about 2 more hours. I woke up sunday, worked on it from 12-3. Yesturday (monday), worked on it from 5-7 8-10. Right now my trunk is warming up and im gonna get to work on it. And how far am I? About half way done. A mix of second skin Xtreme, and regualr. ive done like 1-3 layers on the stuff i have done, but ill prob. do 1-2 more, which wont take as long cause i already know how to cut it. So basically, with some short breaks....

3 hours

5 hours

3 hours

4 hours

_______

15 hours - half of my trunk

Mind you, im taking my time and taking breaks in between so i dont go insane and my back doesnt break off. I'm sure others can do it faster, and the second time around ill be able to also.... I GOT PICS IF U WANT
