Dying subwoofer

I have a memphis 10" PR that is making real strange noises. It sounds like clacking noises. It used to only do this at lower volumes, but now its doing it loud as hell. I can tell from the cab the noise, and there is less bass coming from the woofer as well. Im convinced it is dead/dying. Am i right?

Im replacing it next week, so ill just finish it with my friends sundown 4500 in that event.

sending 600W(tuned down to about half gain) to two 250W rms subs. The amp is a POS. Let this be a lesson to those who buy cheap amps

I would reset your gain right, even at half it may be way to high. Your amp could do 600rms at 1/4 gain depending on your headunit.

Just set gains with a DMM next time.

Since one channel on the AB amp died, im using one. At 2ohms its rated 625W at max, but its THD is 450W @ 2ohms
