DVD-R cd's ??

hi guys. now im new to my dvd player inm y computer believe it or not, and i didnt have one in my computer until this weekend when i swapped drives. now i bought some DVD-R cd's and they are 4.7 GB capacity. now my other blank cd's are 700MB. now my question is this: can i BURN MUSIC on these DVD cd's OR are they strictly for movies ??? if i can put music, a disc would hold a lot. anyone know for sure? thxxxxxxxxx!

he's right....most cd players wont read a dvd-r if music has been burned on it.....sorry man

AND not all DVD players (for cars) will play mp3 DVD's... some only play them as AUDIO DVD's and some dont do anything but regular cds and dvds...

IT ALL depends on what your gonna play it on.

Different companies made them in the beginning and they were not compatible with each other. Now pretty much everything can read/write +R and -R so it's not a big deal.

Sony made DVD+R's which were at first only made for data i think. however as shugarra dvd +/- rs can be treated as equal.
