Dustcap for Alpine R

I picked this sub up for a nice price on ebay because of what the front looks like I know alpine doesn't make replacement dustcaps/cones but i saw on here somewhere where someone took a blank dustcap and put it over the original one. Wheres the best place to get one for the price? Should i do the whole diameter? I know that a superglue or epoxy is the best thing to use and that many people say to get one from FI, but i wanted to see what you guys thought it this situation.

fiberglass and gorilla tape is your best bet.

It just needs a little tlc and a nice ported box for some good old fun.

It's fun how it can get just as low as my X off the same amount of power, just doesn't sound the same doing it.

The picture of it on e-bay made it look a little nicer lol. I can only imagine what the person did to it, and i bought it off a store :S lol

I'm going to try to get ahold of someone at fi for a dustcap. should i try to get one to cover everything? I'm going to have to get one that bubbles out, will the air between the existing front and the new dust cap make a difference if it's all sealed?

It's worth the money for a little dustcap gluing experence and a nice cheap sub. I'll have less into it than i sold my last "toy" R for.

I have a 12" R in my room with a blown voicecoil, maybe I can dismantle the top (sounds easy?) and sell it to you at the right price? ...also.. any idea how much a R with a blown VC can sell for?

I have no idea what the parts are called, i'm more of a enthusiast than a hobbyist. Cosmetically the sub is 9/10.. its just that a VC is blown =(. maybe itll be easier if u just make me an offer for the whole thing shipped? haha
