Dust Cap?

A dust cap is exactly what it sounds like it is, it shouldn't make much differecne is it is off or on its just to keep dirt out of your voice coils and make it look better. Peace

Matt, y you laughen at mah avatar? If you herd these the way I have them set up, youd shit your pants because of wwhat youd think they sound like. Peace

I didnt mean it like im pointing and laughing at you. They are just old models that i happen to have sitting in my garage.

And they didnt impress me too much in the 4 ways i had it set up and the 600 watts they were getting.

On subs.that have vented pole pieces the dust cap is very important, because it seals off the front wave from the rear.Say you have a sealed enclosure and no dust cap on your sub, its performing like a ported box as the air will be rushing directly through the center of the sub. Also the dust cap must be sealed tight to allow the speaker to perform its best.Peace...

What he said, like my speaker in my avatar has a vented pole and the speaker is a solid bowl, so I don't have to worry about a dust cap. Peace

i had them free-aired, i had them in a sealed .88 regular/inverted, then i had them in 1.25 sealed/inverted

inverted sounded best in both situations.

I mean youd be surprised at how good they sound and hit.

Surprisingly, I heard a musical setup with 4 of these that could do well over 150 db. Surprising to say the least //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
