So The Locals are trying to pass a law

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif what you think your hitting at 30ft?

here are some of the sweet laws

Sec. 16-3. Loudspeakers or sound trucks.

It shall be unlawful to play, operate or use any device known as a sound truck, loudspeaker or sound amplifier, radio or phonograph, with loudspeaker or sound amplifier or any instrument of any kind or character which emits loud or raucous noises and is attached to and upon any vehicle unless such person in charge of such vehicle shall have first applied to and received permission from the chief of police to operate any such vehicle so equipped.

Sec. 16-12. Mufflers, modification.

It shall be unlawful for any person to sell, lease, rent or install any device or sell, rent, lease or operate any motor vehicle, engine or mechanical device with a device which when attached to or placed upon such motor vehicle, engine or mechanical device amplifies or increases the noise emitted by it above that emitted by the motor vehicle, engine or mechanical device in its original factory design.

Sec. 16-10. Exterior loudspeakers.

It shall be unlawful to use or operate a loudspeaker or sound amplifying equipment in a fixed or movable position or mounted upon any motor vehicle upon any street, alley, sidewalk, park, place, public or private property within the city. Nothing in this section shall prohibit the use of speakers or sound amplifying equipment within an enclosed area; provide, however, the noise created from such speakers or sound amplifying equipment shall be subject to the limitations set forth in section 16-6.

lmao i wouldnt even care if they would pass a law like that here.

as soon as i see a cop in any direction, the bass is OFF. i dont care what song it is or whos in the car, cop is there, bass goes off.

chances of getting caught are neil unless you just wang all day everyday and dont look for cops or get blindsided by one..

its not the lows we listen for its the highs bouncin off walls or traveling long distances. when you see us, roll the windows up.

as for the noise laws, i hate em. reasoning is safety, but the truth is it annoys people and thats about it. its viewed as noise. just like barking dogs or construction work.

you should get people together in your area that have aftermarket stereos, or people that just support the culture. argue againt this ruling if it hasnt been implemented. show that its an artform, not just people waiting money

i know in my city they looked for my lows though. i was driving down a road that is a 55mph industrial area. he passed me going 55mph in the opposite direction and turned around and stopped me. said he heard me a wayyys down, before he even saw me (i had 2 15's and a 2500d at the time, but i wasnt being a dick, it was an industrial area with nobody even around). so im assuming he didnt hear my highs from that far away.

and for the safety thing, why do they let deaf people drive then?

PS, big ups to you for realizing its a bs law. there is a place for it though IMO, and its for the a-holes who do it purposely to try to impress people driving around simply to be heard.

i mean just about every town has something like this....here its basically all that was mentioned in the OP just from 100ft......cop told me if he could hear it from 100ft its too loud......

9 times out of 10 though if a cop sees you bumpin and u turn it down they dont bother messing with you unless its late at night..... which any moron should have the common courtesy to turn it down at night anyway....

the safety thing is to hear emergency vehicles, i agree with the def reasoning also. your eyes are all you REALLY need to drive. if your truly paying attention you wont need to hear an emergency vehicle. it should be seen in time to get out of the way.

my city is no more than 50 ft. hell stock 4x6's go more than 50 ft. if i heard you from that far away i woulda gave you props on the install and gave the warning speech.

lol

key is loud and raucous noise. if you get a ticket argue that music is not noise.

noise - the auditory experience of sound that lacks musical quality; sound that is a disagreeable auditory experience.

30hz is an agreeable auditory experience

tell em you were listening to mozart. then ask if mozart is considered noise? or music?
