Duramix 4058 sanding?

Has anyone used Duramix 4058? I've used the 4040 but never the 4058. I saw the glassman 5.1 videos and he is using 4058 for the lowspots instead of filler. He doesnt really say how hard it is to sand, i know he uses a DA, but i want to know how hard/easy it is to sand by hand?

is that the one for rigid or flexible plastics?

either way is should be easy to sand. Not sure why youre using it though?

It's not that bad sanding . Eats up some paper , but it's not too bad . I tend to use a file to get things to the shape I want first . Then just use the paper to smooth it over //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So you have used 4058 before?

i got a response on mp3car.

its hard to sand, i used this stuff before, its like hard plastic, but its da bomb, i have the 30 second stuff to but rairly use it, i find that the "fusor" stuff works well too...
but my most favorate stuff in the world is the stuff i made my dash from...

DLn' 120 pics right now so i will take one in like 5-10 min...

made by pro form, "pf 702" "rigid plastic epoxy repair kit"

no shrinkage, can be baked and painted, no pinholes, excellent sandability and good for smc and frp

The 4048 is the same as the 4040 only slighty thinner.

It sands the same as 4040, which is like hard plastic.

It was used as a filler because it was thinner and easier to manuveur.

hmmm. i think i may just use rage. you have any tips for it to stick well to plastic?..besides roughing it up

dont use body filler, it might pop! abs and other plastics expand/contract with heat and filler doesnt. go with the duramix. You dont need the mixing gun if thats whats turning you off.

i used body filler on my old screen mold, it seemed to work fine, although a crack did occur.

maybe i will get the duramix, i'll spend the extra time sanding.

i wonder if there is such thing as an electric da sander...?

should i just use 24 grit then move my way up then wetsand?
