Dumb Levels Question ?

When adjusting the levels on an amp, is it adjusting the max amount of power it will put out, or just slope at which it varies power relative to volume knob on head unit?

You mean the gain...?

It adjusts the sensitivity of the input. Much like the gain on guitar distortion.

Ya. So if you have it set at half way does that mean you can only get half of the rated RMS or do you just have to turn volume up more to receive rated RMS?
