duct style ports

lets says it calls for a port 4" w by 15" h by 13.5 L-

if i want to make a duct style port, could i make the port 2" wide by 15" tall by 27" in length?

does that make sense? taking half of the port width and doubling the length to keep the same amount of space? or would that throw eveything off==would that work right or is there a different method that has to be used, ?

No. Even if that keeps the same tuning (not gonna do the math to check), you would in effect be cutting down JL's recommended port area by half.

meh, its a slot port lol.

if you went from a port 4 x 15 x 13.5 to 2 x 15 x 27, you are going to drop the tuning by a whole bunch.

download WINISD and play around. not 100% perfect, but close enough

Manufacturers sometimes claim certain frequencies but are not 100% accurate. There designs will tune a bit higher than the stated frequency...

You can change the units of measurement simply by clicking on each individual unit of measurement to cycle through the options.
