My business partners wife has an 05 Explorer...its the same dash from 02-05...so yeah it will fit...

yes sir it will fit...and i checked crutchfield and an alpine w205 will fit your vehicle, and if you are interested in one i will let mine go to you w/ alpine bypass and highspeed ipod cable, along with original box, manual, remote, hu, wiring harnesses, etc... only 3 weeks installed and in MINT condition for 600 shipped. let me know

Height wise its only 4 inches up.

A normals DD's screen is 6 inches.

Correct. When a touch screen is advertised as 6.5", that is diagonal. They are measured the same as TV's and monitors. The actual chassis is ~4" x 7".
