You need nothing but the batteries, isolators are not good for audio use while car is on. If you want extended play from your stereo with car off and not worry about draining your front battery - then you want an isolator. But the added reserve of the second battery negates some of this anyway - so there is no real benefit

Just wire them in parallel and you'll be fine
