Hey guys, I was planning to hook up an extra battery in my trunk for my system, I was wondering what size wire you guys think I should use to connect them(engine battery to back battery).

I have a 4 gauge wire running back there right now, would be this adequate to feed about 1600 rms that is running from the two amps i have?

Basically to sum it up, if I use a 4 gauge wire from the front battery/alt + to the back battery +, would this be an alright set up if the two amps I am using run 1600rms combined?

Thanks..

thanks, pmed

also, could anyone by any chance link me to a DIY? I can't find any good ones and apparently this will be more work than I thought

i figured i'd get my stock alt. tuned to put out more but my friend is telling me this will cause complications..

2 guage is minimum I'd recommend between the batteries, especialy that far away. But I would say 1/0+ is better:) power-power/ground-grund is also better:)

its real easy, i put in an isolator also jus trunt he wires like hte isolator says and either run back a ground from batt to batt or ground it to the chassi of the car and make a better ground up on front battery
