dual alts, 2 different alts ok or bad?

So I'm currently on the broke side and working on a dual alt setup on my Toyota pickup. I got a small cased alt from a 01 Chevy pickup to fit in the stock location. Plan on pulling my a/c off to install a second. Would it be bad to use a large cased Chevy alt (ad-244) and tie them together until I can afford a matching pair?

i have a custom chevy 160 amp and a xs power 200 amp and they work fine together

Cool that's what I wanted to hear. Now do you use both to supply power to the same batt bank?

Makes no difference if they are the same brand, nice to check to make sure they are fairly equal on their voltage output though.
